CASH BONUS FOR YOU ?
In April 2010 a letter will be sent by the government to say there will be a cash bonus available for people aged 18 – 65 who save regularly and are on the benefits or tax credits shown in the box:

People who save up to £25 per month into a special account for two years without taking the money out will get a cash bonus of up to £300 added at the end of the two year saving period.
To see how much you could gain, decide how much you want to save per week:

You can save monthly if you prefer –

up to £25 per month.

You can borrow against your savings as usual

Get a head start by building up your savings before April. Then, if you have a month where you are short of money during the two year savings plan, it could be transferred from your normal savings account and you won’t miss out on the bonus.
You can take the money out if you need it but you only get the bonus if you keep the money in till the end of the two years.

You will be eligible for the Bonus if you are receiving any of these in April 2010:

Income Support
Incapacity Benefit or Employment and Support Allowance
Carer’s allowance
Severe Disablement Allowance
Jobseekers Allowance
Working Tax Credit or Child Tax Credit with an income below £16,040
